WHAT WE LIKED ABOUT THE FLAVIA SB100
The Flavia SB100 has it's ups and downs. What's nice about this system is that it's nicely built and feels like it can handle the rigors of heavy use. Setup, brewing and cleanup was a breeze, as is the case with all Flavia coffee machines. It's fully capatible with all the current Flavia flavor pouches, and of course, the coffee tastes fantastic.
WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE
Although this is a heavy duty machine, it does have it's downfalls. The brew time of this machine was slower than the smaller 'built for home' Flavia Fusion (45 sec vs 30 sec). Although a 15 second difference isn't a lot of time, it does amount to a 50% increase in brew time. The more time your employee spends at the coffee pot, the more inclined they will chit chat in the process. As an employer, you all know, the less time your workers spend at the coffee pot, the better. That's why you want a Flavia machine in the first place right? :)
Another lacking feature that was missed is the Frothy Drink option! No cappuccinos! What?!?! We really aren't fans of the Flavia cappuccinos anyways, but some people are. For an office coffee system, it's a must have option.
Overall, the fact that this Flavia machine is intended for the office, yet lacks a few minor details that are important to a good office coffee system, makes the SB100 a real disappointment in our test. We'd much rather have 2 Flavia Fusion machines (~$119.00), than 1 SB100 system (~$199.00).
